BLAZE gives Wii media abilities

Heh, I'm getting to be the BLAZE spokesperson here at Gaming Nexus. The latest product they're touting is the Wii Media Manager, a transfer kit that lets you store digital copies of movies, music and pictures on your Wii. It also acts kind of the like GameShark from way back when, allowing you to back up your save files on a PC and even download cheats for various games.

I'm not sure why anyone would use their Wii as a media driver, unless it's the only console they own. Nintendo probably isn't happy about this device either. Nintendo is like Apple in that they're very strict about their proprietary hardware and software--they don't want you using anything with their console unless they made it. They're also fanatical about piracy and they try to lock out homebrew applications with every new firmware update. I think it's cool what BLAZE is doing, expanding the Wii's abilities beyond the bare bones that Nintendo provides, but I have to wonder how the Big N will respond.
