It's been two and a half years since we last walked in the shoes of Gordon Freeman. Yes, two and a half years since
Half-Life 2 Episode 2 has been released and there's been nary a word on when a third episode or even a third game in the series will hit.
Well,
Cinemablend is reporting that Game Informer is stating there will not be a Half-Life game in 2010. Are we actually going to hit three years without a conclusion to the series? I mean, the idea of episodic content is to not have to wait a large amount of time between releases. Valve's gone the extreme here with Episode 3 whereas they went to the other extreme with the year release of
Left 4 Dead 2.
I know we're not into
Duke Nukem Forever territory here but I know gamers are anxious to see the continuing adventures of Gordon. I know I am. At this rate, I'd rather have Valve just cut loose the third episode, bring out a new engine, and finish the series with Half-Life 3.
