DrDisRespect's first Code Red tournament kicks off today

DrDisRespect, a well known Twitch streamer, recently announced his plans to put on a set of weekly tournaments. The Code Red tournaments aim to bring together influencers, professional players, and celebrities, and ultimately deliver a competitive experience reflective of the Doc's trademark brand of 'Violence, Speed, and Momentum'.

The first Code Red tournament kicks off today at 4 PM EST, and will be played in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. The event will be hosted by none other than DrDisRespect himself. The Doc had originally indicated the tournaments will take place across a variety of games, so viewers may see different games being played week to week.

Not much has been revealed about the format of the tournament, but I'd expect (and hope) that the format will be focused on rewarding more aggressive, eliminations focused play. PUBG has a notably slow pace of play in its competitive scene, with most players preferring to mitigate risk by avoiding engagements. Should the format of the tournament value eliminations over placement, it could make teams more willing to look for fights, which generally creates a better viewer experience.

Even if PUBG's not your thing, DrDisRespect is bound to bring a lot of entertainment value to the tournament, so it may be worth tuning in just to see how it all plays out.
