During the PS2 years, before the age of widespread indie development, you could typically find bizarre, "quirky" games like Katamari Damacy on the PS2 because it's install base was so ludicrously huge that even weird art projects weren't that much of a risk. Katamari Damacy, the absurd physics-rolling game about a cosmic king assembling stars from random junk he rolls into a ball, was a great way to get your friends scratching their heads during a dorm party.
Now Katamari Damacy Reroll is an HD remaster of the original game coming to Switch and Steam on December 7th. This updated edition has gyro controls on Switch and even takes advantage of the Joy Cons' HD rumble effect. I'm pretty pleased about this. Switch has been getting a ton of top-tier indie ports, but it's nice to see one of the original "huh?" games get a new lease on life with Switch and Steam.

Realizing his mistake, The King has tasked his young son, The Prince, to go to Earth and roll up as many things as possible to recreate the missing celestial bodies. Paper clips, books, cars, buildings, mountains, and continents, nothing is too big or small for The Prince and his adhesive Katamari ball. Katamari Damacy REROLL will feature remastered graphics and cut scenes as well as new motion controls optimized for the Nintendo Switch. Using the left and right Joy-Con controllers while the Nintendo Switch is in TV mode or Tabletop mode, players can move The Prince around with ease by simply turning their wrists.
