After many years of waiting, Soul Calibur has finally returned, and we won't have to wait much longer as Bandai Namco has announced that Soul Calibur VI will launch on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 19th 2018.
They also released a new trailer during E3 showing off the story mode of the game. This is just my assumption but from the brief glimpse we got, it appears that each character will have their own unique story and you will have to play through the story mode with all of the characters to get the full story.
