The Tomb Kings and Lord Tretch Craventail arrive in Total War: Warhammer 2

More On: Total War: Warhammer 2

The Tomb Kings arrive, or rise, in their titular campaign pack for Total War: Warhammer 2, out today. Hailing from Nehekhara, or the Land of the Dead, the Tomb Kings are the undead vestiges of a long-lost civilization that once spanned empires. Now, they return to seek to restore their former greatness.

Per the very informative FAQ on the game's website: "In response to player feedback, Rise of the Tomb Kings does not contain a supplementary story campaign". Funny enough that the DLC is titled a campaign pack, then.

Instead, four Legendary Warriors that come with their own quest lines and gear will replace a story. They are as follows.

Settra the Imperishable: THE Tomb King, his wrath is boundless. He is immortal, and therefore "never needs to return to his sarcophagus to rest". He grants a bonus to growth and public order, and reduces construction time.

High Queen Khalida: A highly intelligent warrior queen who was killed by her cousin, who also happened to be the first vampire ever. No joke. With her dying breath, she called out to the serpent goddess Asaph, and is now her chosen one. Khalida brings a range of boons to combat: including increased ammunition to all ranged units in her faction, and negating attrition. Also, she reduces all corruption and brings a bonus to diplomatic relations with all the Tomb Kings.

Grand Heirophant Khatep: The Tomb King equivalent of Rasputin (read the FAQ, it's great), this Liche Priest roams the Land of the Dead in exile. His casualty replenishment and army movement are up across the whole faction, and recruits fellow Liche Priests at a higher rank and number.

Arkhand the Black: The Liche King, raised from the dead by his former master Nagash, he razes the realm of the living. Combat buffs go to melee attack and defense, and armies across all factions get boosts to Winds of Magic. Diplomatic bonuses go to Vampire Counts, and his factions suffer no penalties to public order from Vampiric Corruption.

For more info, go to the FAQ linked above, it's filled with a lot of great information.

Also releasing today is the Skaven Legendary Lord Tretch Craventail (for free). He is playable in the Eye of the Vortex and Mortal Empires campaigns. He grants bonuses to combat in goading his soldiers to fight harder after each rout. He begins play in the Naggoroth area.

Both DLCs are available now.
