Telltale’s Batman: The Enemy Within gets its fourth episode on January 23rd

More On: Batman - The Enemy Within

I’m a couple of episodes into the first season of Telltale’s Batman series, and holy smokes, once again Telltale is blowing my mind.  They grabbed this license and went running off into crazy-town. There is a level of gumption in taking a beloved and established universe and putting a nutso spin on it that deserves respect. I know that the concept of “canon” in DC’s Batman universe is nebulous at best, but some of the story choices made in the first episode had my head spinning.

That said, I am excited to finish playing through this first season and jump into the already-in-progress second season, “The Enemy Within” (wasn’t that also the name of an X-Com expansion?). I know that Telltale takes a lot of heat for their outdated engine being clunky, and some folks feel that the games rely too much on quick time events. I’m one of the outliers that thinks that Telltale games rock, and every time I engage with one, I think “Why didn’t I do this sooner?”. Telltale has a knack for capturing the flavor of their various licenses, and the writing seems to only get better as time goes by.

The Enemy Within’s fourth episode, “What Ails You” has been announced for release on January 23 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac and Mobile. If you need to catch up, the first season is available for free to PlayStation Plus members this month.
