Fallout Shelter to make its debut on Xbox One, Windows 10

If you wanted to reprise your role as an Overseer in the Fallout universe, or just want to try it out for the first time (but can't or don't want to play it on mobile), you've got your chance. The hit mobile game Fallout Shelter is coming to Xbox One and Windows 10, and (of course) it's still going to be free.

According to Xbox Wire, the game is going to be available as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. You can grab it from either the Windows store or the Xbox store, and once you do you'll be able to jump into the extensive yet familiar world of vault management, from Questing to Crafting and everything in between.

So what's different? After all, the game was already released for PC last year. Aside from the obvious it's-also-going-to-be-on-console detail, its status as an Xbox Play Anywhere title mean that you'll be able to share progress between your Xbox and PC. Your achievements, saves, progress, and everything else will remain intact as you switch seamlessly between platform (if you so choose). If you want to stick to console, rest assured that Bethesda has completely adapted the game to be playable with an Xbox One controller, because your console obviously doesn't have the touchscreen for which the game was originally designed.

Fallout Shelter hits the Windows Store and Xbox Store on February 7.
