You can fall a long, long ways to your death in Prey for the Gods

More On: Prey for the Gods

If you like waking up on a bleak, snowy island with nothing but a survival instinct and the inherent need to take down massive monsters, then you need to pay attention to Prey for the Gods. Because that's exactly what's going on here. It's got single-player Day-Z-like survival sensibilities and a Shadow of the Colossus-sized chip on its shoulder when it comes to boss battles. That's right. You're scraping for supplies and scrambling over bosses and, well, if the trailer is to be believed, falling to your death from time to time.

When not dealing with colossi, you'll apparently deal with wolves. And inclement weather. Combine the two, and you've got wolves in a blizzard. There are stories-tall temple doors. There is at least one straight-up dragon living in the woods. And you'll be stitching together furs, stringing bows, and trudging through snow drifts. And remember to watch your step. It's a long ways down from the back of an angry, flying serpent.

Prey for the Gods is coming to PlayStation 4. Not sure if anything else. And not sure when. I'm kind of digging what I'm seeing, though.
