The Conduit 2 official word: Agent Ford goes to war

by: Sean Colleli -
More On: Conduit 2
We announced The Conduit 2 yesterday and now we have the official word from Sega and High Voltage Software. This is a sequel of epic proportions. In the first game Agent Ford blasted his way through Washington D.C., but now he’ll be traveling the globe to fight the Drudge in massive multi-tiered levels and cinematic battles.

On the multiplayer side of things, HVS has added the 4-player co-op invasion mode, and a host of new features, maps and customizable abilities for deathmatch. Invasion has off and online play, while deathmatch is still 12-player online. All modes have enhanced security—a welcome addition, considering dishonorable players eventually hacked the original game.

The kicker is that we’re getting this game by fall 2010—an unexpected and welcome surprise, with HVS’s other big IP, The Grinder, getting pushed back until next year. Check below for the first screenshots of Conduit 2—they look on-par with the first game, which was the most graphically impressive Wii title.

The first Conduit definitely had its flaws, but I scored it high because of its intriguing story and sheer ambition. I’m very pleased that HVS is pushing the limits of their original design, and no doubt they’ll really explore the multi-leveled conspiracy web they established in The Conduit. 2010 just keeps getting better for Wii owners.
