Capcom trying something new with Remember Me

Capcom isn’t giving up on trying to establish new IP’s for their portfolio. Following up on the huge success of Dragon’s Dogma, the Japanese publisher revealed a new franchise developed by Paris-based DONTNOD called Remember Me. The third person action-adventure game is set in 2084 Neo Paris and follows a memory hunter who is on the run.

In the future, science has discovered the key to unlocking the human memory; those who possess the right tools can access and even alter the memories and knowledge of anyone. Changing a single memory in a person can alter their entire being. There are a group of specially trained operatives charged with this task, known as memory hunters. You are Nilin, one of those operatives; the problem is, someone has recently changed your memories; in fact, they practically wiped you clean. You have now gone from being someone who hunts for the memories of others to someone who is hunted. Lost, confused, and on the run, nilin is on a journey to discover who she is and why this has been done to her.

The game will play out as a third-person action-adventure with a huge focus on acrobatic, hand-to-hand combat. Of course, being a memory hunter by trade, Nilin will also have the ability to mix the memories of her opponents, which should make for some interesting gameplay mechanics, as evident in the gameplay trailer below.

The game is currently being targeted for a March 2013 release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC; you can check out a variety of screenshots as well as two trailers for the game below. The concept definitely looks interesting and I cannot wait to see how this one plays out.
