Gran Turismo 6 coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 later

by: John - - Add a Comment
Sony gamers who love cars love the Gran Turismo series. It's been the defacto racing simulator for many years now. In fact, the series is celebrating 15 years, which is a pretty great feat.

Gran Turismo 6 is coming and it'll be coming out for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. PS3 will get first crack at playing the game, but expect a PS4 version later on down the road. Vita folks aren't going to be left out here either as a version for the portable will also be forth coming.

1,200 cars, 71 course layouts, 33 locations, and more through DLC will give you plenty of choices to play with. For now, check out the announcement trailer and gaze at some of the beautifully rendered cars that you'll be able to drive yourself when the game hits the store shelves.

Lords of the Fallen coming to PC and next-gen consoles

by: Nathaniel - - Add a Comment
Tomasz Gop, whose name may recognize from the credits for The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings, is the lead developer on Lords of the Fallen for City Interactive.  Lords of the Fallen is a, just unveiled, fantasy action-RPG that is both "demanding" and "strategic."  It's scheduled for release on PC and next-gen consoles in 2014.

Players will assume the role of Harkyn as he stands against a seemingly unbeatable supernatural entity.  Right now, most of the details are unspecific, however, Lords of the Fallen is going to introduced to the world at large at this year's E3 Expo that runs from June 11 to June 13 in Los Angeles.  Hopefully, at that point we'll get some concrete details.

Until then, you can visit www.cigames.com and Lords of the Fallen on Facebook to learn more.

Wolfenstein: New Order screenshots

by: Nathaniel - - Add a Comment
If Doom is the grandfather of first-person shooters, then Wolfenstein is the weird uncle who spends all his time in a bath robe and dives on the floor whenever there's a loud noise.

And now that weird uncle makes a return to the gaming universe with Wolfenstein: The New Order.  It's set to hit in Q4 of this year for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and next generation consoles.  And unless these screenshots were generated by some Nazi techno-sorcery futurism, Wolfenstein: The New Order is shaping up to look fantastic.

Also, there something called a Panzerhund in it.  For those of you not familiar with German, or WWII, that translates to "tank dog."  Based on the screens, I'd say that's as cool as it sounds.

2K Games will release WWE 2K14 on October 29th

by: John - - Add a Comment
Do you smell that? Do you smell when the Rock will be cookin' on your console? WWE 2K14, which 2K Games acquired after THQ went bye bye, will be released on October 29th according to 2K Games' fourth quarter report.

The Yukes developed game will feature The Rock as the cover star and will make it's 2K debut this Fall. The last THQ published WWE '13 game was released last October. This will be the first in a five year agreement with the WWE to publish their games.

The game should hit all current consoles EXCEPT for the Wii U. That is, if rumors are to be believed that there are no WWE games planned for the Nintendo console for the foreseeable future.

Bethesda big announcement is Fall--... A NEW WOLFENSTEIN!

by: Jeremy - - Add a Comment
Haha! Everybody was SO excited at the possibility of Bethesda announcing Fallout 4 yesterday (I am looking at you John and Travis).. too bad that didn’t happen. Instead, Bethesda pulled a fast one and revealed a game that nobody saw coming: Wolfenstein: The New Order.

That’s right, a new entry in the classic Wolfenstein series is on its way courtesy of MachineGames. The new version is a re-imagining of the franchise and is coming to the PC, 360, PS3, and next generation consoles. There is no specific release window at this time and the details are coming tomorrow through a series of exclusive stories at Gamespot. Until we get all the information, we can at least soak in a very dramatic teaser trailer (courtesy of Gamespot) and dry your tears over the lack of a new Fallout.

Now Playing: Blood Dragon's Dogma Edition

by: Randy - - Add a Comment
Beyond: Two Souls has a 2,000-page script but will only have 10 hours of gameplay. Activision's CEO is one of the highest-paid in America, while EA lopped off limbs left and right. But it's wasn’t all bad this week--Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon’s pulpy VHS shtick won hearts and minds, and critical darling Fez finally spun its way onto PC.

What are you playing this weekend?

Russell Archey | staff writer | Twitter @neoscyther
More than likely I'll be working on my next review piece, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move. It's been awhile since I've played a Mario vs. DK game, so I'm really looking forward to spending time with this one.

Sean Cahill | staff writer | Twitter @seancahill2
I'll be sitting down for some Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on the 360 for the latest review piece. Outside of that, after beating BioShock Infinite in the past couple of days, I'll probably return to Tomb Raider to finally beat that and, perhaps, Far Cry 3.

Sean Colleli | staff writer
It's time to hit the indie Steam backlog, probably with some They Bleed Pixels. I might also pick up DLC Quest; my girlfriend tells me it's pretty funny. Then again, I might also get Mars: War Logs, Zeno Clash II, or of course Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Decisions, decisions.

Jeremy Duff | senior staff writer | Twitter @duff3c
This weekend I need to sink a bit of time into The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, which is shaping up to be way better than I expected. I might also have to dip my toes back into Soul Sacrifice because, well, those monsters aren't going to slay themselves.

Charles Husemann | editor-in-chief | Twitter @chusemann
This weekend will be spent working on Farm Simulator: Suburban Edition as I finally get around to cleaning up the garden areas in my backyard and start working on taming the yard. On a digital game front, I'm going to be spending time with MechWarrior Online as I continue level grinding on my next sets of mechs to elite status.  Time permitting, I'm going to try and progress a bit on BioShock Infinite and possibly even start a playthrough of Half-Life 2 as a recent HL2DM session has reignited my love of the game.

Randy Kalista | staff writer | Twitter @randykalista
My 14-day trial of EVE Online expired, so my character's early explorer/archaeology career is on ice indefinitely. They've done extensive work with the tutorials. It unlocked entire branches of gameplay too complicated to figure out on my own before. So now I need a pick-me-up. I would revisit The Walking Dead or Planescape: Torment but, ugh. Downers. Some Sacred Citadel beat 'em up action might do the trick. Jeremy and I co-op'd a bit, but it crashed as soon as we reached the first boss, some ancient, 'roided-up Treant.

Mike Mahardy | staff writer | Twitter @mmahardy
I've been getting back into nightly loot fests in Diablo III, so those will be punctuated by attempts to finally become a fighting game fan. I have a tendency to try out most new fighting games, but after trying Injustice: Gods Among Us at GDC, I think my love for the license will pull me through.

New trailer confirms Call of Duty: Ghosts

by: Jeremy - - Add a Comment
Rumor no more: Call of Duty- Ghosts is a real thing and coming this Fall courtesy of Infinity Ward. Hot on the heels of the new site John mentioned a few days back, Activision has released a teaser trailer for the next installment in the blockbuster series which will be fully unveiled on May 21, 2013. The new game will deliver a whole new world, new characters, and a new experience. The game is being revealed at the Xbox: The New Generation event being held in Redmond, Washington to reveal the next Xbox console.

This Watch Dogs trailer is out of control!

by: John - - Add a Comment
So Watch Dogs looks pretty damn awesome. The game that took last year's E3 by storm is ever inching closer to a release. The game's going to be out on the PC, 360, PS3, and as a launch title for the PlayStation 4. With that, here's a new trailer that was released today showing off some really cool action. The main character isn't just good with electronics, he's pretty bad ass with guns as well. Can't wait to see this up close in a month.

Activision opens a teaser site for Call of Duty: Ghosts

by: John - - Add a Comment
Through leaked advertisements, the next Call of Duty game should be Call of Duty: Ghosts. Now, Activision has a teaser site up that further affirms that this is most likely the title.

The website features a mask of Ghost, the British soldier who died in Modern Warfare 2. The site lets you hover over the mask where there are links to various Twitter or Facebook accounts mentioning the game.

Now, Ghosts could be a prequel to Modern Warfare 2, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's about someone else taking up the mantle of Ghost in events after Modern Warfare 2. Highly unlikely, but I wouldn't put it past them to do so. The game's being made by Infinity Ward and is due out this Fall with word is the game will be unveiled May 1st.

Nintendo will not have an E3 press conference this year

by: John - - Add a Comment
Nintendo has announced they are forgoing the E3 press conference this year, instead holding smaller events at the show. Nintendo's press conference typically runs right before the start of the first day of E3 at the Nokia Theater, but this will be the first year in a while (maybe ever?) that they won't be doing something before the convention.

It's funny that they mentioned this today as I was talking to a few of my colleagues and mentioning that I'm skipping out on this year's Nintendo press conference as I would like to take care of other things and I never did get much out it. They've announced products that never show (Vitality Sensor anyone?) and some of their games were shown using competitor's consoles (Wii U graphics in third party games). They've been using the Nintendo Direct events to announce their new products, which is nice in some aspects.

Now, it will just be Sony's press conference that will be held before the show as Microsoft's usually a day before. I don't know what kind of presence they'll have in on the convention floor itself, but it will be weird to not have one of the big three produce some kind of press conference for the event.

Deadpool loves you, himself, his videogame, and pre-order bonuses

by: Nathaniel - - Add a Comment
I'm by no means a Marvel pantheon expert.  It sort of begins and ends with Spiderman for me.  So all I know about Deadpool is that he is crazy, full of himself, and crazy.  Did I mention that he was crazy?  I learned all that just today.  No doubt, if you don't buy his game, he'll deep-fry something you love - or whatever Deadpool's traditional enemy disposal method is.  I don't really know.  However, I do know that if you don't pre-order his game, unsurprisingly called Deadpool, you'll miss out on the following pre-order bonuses, straight from the mouth-hole of Deadpool himself:

Gamestop/EB Games
  • MY “Merc with a Map Pack” DLC (confetti explosion!) adds two new maps – GRT Plaza and Inside the Tower – to Deadpool Challenge mode, as well as two b-b-b-b-bonus costumes – the D-Pooly and Uncanny X-Force suits only for use in the unlockable Infinite mode where your stats are tracked on a global leaderboard.
  • Exclusive digital wallpaper for my PowerUp Rewards friends featuring who else – me!!! I’ll probably be, like, you know, totally ripped in it and all. No bigsies. – U.S. Only
  • A (drum roll, please) midnight launch party at the GameStop with the most pre-orders (more drums!) paid BY Activision (now the bassoon!) with a LIVE appearance from ME, Das Pool! Now’s your chance, Kodiak, Alaska GameStop customers! – U.S. Only
Amazon.com:
  • A $5 Amazon credit towards select Marvel graphic novels– but seriously… buy a Deadpool graphic novel.
  • An exclusive digital wallpaper and digital cover sleeve, because what are you doing not staring at my perfectly sculpted body every waking moment of the day?
Deadpool has "instructed" me to tell you to go pre-order his new game, or else.  Natch.

Deadpool will be out on June 25 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 for $49.99, and on PC for only $39.99.  Now go and check out Deadpool on the web at www.deadpoolgame.com and www.facebook.com/RealDeadpool.

Girls Scouts will "Be Prepared" for badge in video game design

by: Randy - - Add a Comment
"Be Prepared" is the Girl Scouts' motto. I wasn't using "ironic" or "scare" quotes in the headline.

Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles (GSGLA) and Women in Games International (WIGI) are combining forces to create a merit badge in video game design.

They're placing the Video Game Design badge in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) category of badges. Amy Allison, vice president at WIGI, said in an official statement that she hopes the badge will "get young girls excited in technology and science and let them know that they, too, can have a career in the video game industry."

Lise Luttgens, chief executive officer at GSGLA, followed WIGI's statement with "Girl Scouts has a long history of developing pioneers in the fields of science and technology, so we are excited about collaborating with Women in Games International to ignite girls' interests in STEM-related subjects."

A brilliantly selected 16-bit heart will be the badge's graphic, a tribute to Nintendo's timeless indicator of health and extra lives. I'd rock that badge and I'm a man!

Note that they're not interested in just getting girls to play games. The emphasis is on the "design" part of Video Game Design. There doesn't appear to be a guide for attaining this badge yet, but it wouldn't be unreasonable for them to mimick the Boy Scouts' requirement for their Game Design badge (though the Boy Scouts' version is not video game-specific.) I checked out that Boy Scout badge: it wouldn't be a bad idea to put video game reviewers and critics through that manual's requirements.

The goal is to get the GSGLA badge recognized and adopted by the overarching Girl Scouts of America, so as to not limit this opportunity to the 40,000 (!) girls in the GSGLA alone.

Perhaps by the time my three-year-old joins the Girl Scouts--should she express such an interest--they could be selling annual copies of Madden and Assassin's Creed next to Samoas and Thin Mints. Though who am I kidding? Unless EA and Ubisoft start coating game boxes with caramel and toasted coconut, I'm going with the cookies.

WWE 2K14 has its cover star

by: Jeremy - - Add a Comment
Over the course of Wrestlemania weekend, the Billion-dollar Prince herself, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, made the announcement over Twitter that the cover star for 2K’s debut WWE title had been selected:

“Breaking News: @TheRock will be featured on the cover of WWE 2K 14" Casey Collins EVP CPG #BPS#Wrestlemania”

So it is official: WWE 2K14 will bare the face of none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. I shall keep my personal opinions about this selection to myself but should note that it still hasn’t been said whether or not the Rock will be wearing donning his Tooth Fairy garb on the cover...

David Hayter says he wasn't asked to come back for Metal Gear Solid V

by: John - - Add a Comment
David Hayter has been a staple of the Metal Gear series for a long, long time. But, it looks like Hideo Kojima and the gang are going in a different direction with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

A post by Mr. Hayter himself says that he had lunch with someone from the production and they just said they wouldn't be needing him. No explanation, no reason, nothing was given.

It's kinda sad being that David,as far as in the US is concerned, is synonymous with Snake (Solid or Naked). His first stint was in 1998 for the PlayStation game so it's been a good 15 years of him being a part of the series. Alas, it seems someone else is going to be voicing the main character this time around.

?Thanks David for all the wonderful times listening to your voice as we took on our enemies in Metal Gear.

Teaser for Thief

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is finally confirmed

by: John - - Add a Comment
We've had long suspected that The Phantom Pain trailer released during The Spike VGAs were in fact Metal Gear Solid V. And at GDC 2013 today, that suspicion has been confirmed.

Kojima took the stage and said that The Phantom Pain, combined with Ground Zeros, is Metal Gear Solid V. So, there you have it folks. It's running on the new Fox Engine, which is set for the next generation of consoles. I'm guessing this means no PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 and that it's heading to the PlayStation 4 and maybe the next Xbox. Actually, I think it will be on the net Xbox as the fake developer page for The Phantom Pain listed Microsoft as one of its platforms.

Here's the GDC Metal Gear Solid V trailer for everyone to get a look at.

Battlefield 4 in action, pretty and intense

by: John - - Add a Comment
The cover has finally lifted, officially, for Battlefield 4. EA and DICE released a 17 minute video, which you can see below, of some single player action. Titled Fishing in Baku, the entire sequence is shot in game and shows off the new Frostbite 3 engine as EA tries to demonstrate the emotion conveyed between characters.

It does look pretty impressive visually. Frostbite 3  Facial expressions are done extremely well as characters interact with each other in what looks to be a more realistic manner. Both tight indoor areas and expansive outdoor areas seem incredibly well done and the destructible environments are back and look to be pushed up a notch. There seems to be a ton of great particle effects as well from the sparks that fly to the dust and debris that can litter the air.

Some gameplay elements show include marking of enemies for your squadmates and attacking vehicles, vehicular combat, and what seems to be a social element, which the video shows by notifying you that you're closing in on a record of points with a friend.

Of course, the single player campaign is only half of the game as Battlefield has always been known as a solid multiplayer experience. There wasn't anything here yet to reveal on that part, but DICE has to save somethings for later right?

Pre-order bonus includes access to the multiplayer beta and an expansion pack. The Digital Deluxe pack also includes a bonus in-game item.

Battlefield 4 is set to launch sometimes this Fall for PC and other platforms.

What We're Playing This Weekend for March 15, 2013

by: Randy - - Add a Comment
God of War got slammed for stomping on a female’s face and handing out a trophy called “Bros Before Hos,” EA is giving away a free game to anybody suffering through SimCity’s launch, and the Tomb Raider reboot is so good no one’s even talking about Lara getting threatened with rape anymore. What are you playing this weekend?

RUSSELL ARCHEY | Staff Writer | Twitter @neoscyther
I know I'm sounding like a broken record week after week, but I just love spending quality time in Skyrim.  I almost have enchanting to 100, and smithing is well on its way there as well. Quest-wise, I only have a few story quests to go, so I'm mainly improving the skills needed to gear up for those. Hopefully in about two weeks time I'll have something different to put here. Not that Skyrim is a bad thing, of course.

NATHAN CARTER | Staff Writer | Twitter @natedoggcata
I think I’m going to switch it up this weekend. While I will still have my Left 4 Dead 2 sessions, most of my time this weekend will be spent with the new Tomb Raider which is absolutely incredible and my front runner for game of the year. Everything about this game is just amazing. The storytelling, the graphics, the gameplay--all outstanding and it sounds absolutely amazing with my Turtle Beach headset as well. Finally, I will be hopping back into some Dead or Alive 5 which is pretty amazing in itself. I know a lot of people dismiss DOA because of all the bouncing boobs and bathing suits, but underneath all of its juvenile humor is a deep and fun fighting game.

SEAN COLLELI | Staff Writer
Oddly enough, this is going to be a DS Lite weekend for me. I finally tracked down two elusive JRPGs for the trusty little portable: Rune Factory 2 arrived a few days ago and Infinite Space should be in the mail now. Why is it that these great games that only came out a couple years ago at most, are now sought-after collector's items that run $60 - $70 secondhand, and just the bare cartridge without the case or manual at that? I hate resorting to Amazon and eBay on these things but the publishers aren't giving me much choice--there wasn't a single copy of Infinite Space at any GameStop, Play N Trade or mom n' pop game store within 100 miles of Columbus. I'd much rather pay full retail price for a fresh shrinkwrapped copy instead of the ridiculously inflated secondhand prices for a solitary cart that's been through God knows what in some kid's backpack.

JEREMY DUFF | Senior Staff Writer | Twitter @duff3c
Don't even get me started on the ridiculousness of this GoW "outrage." That being said, I will be spending this weekend putting my bros before my hoes and playing a lot of God of War: Ascension as well as trying to level up the rest of the roster of Phantom Breaker Battle Grounds.

CHARLES HUSEMANN | Editor-in-Chief, Twitter @chusemann
Will be spending some quality time with SimCity and MechWarrior Online this weekend. I kind of wish someone could combine the two as I'd love to run around my city in my Death Knell commando obliterating misbehaving Sims.

RANDY KALISTA | Staff Writer | Twitter @randykalista
Need to brush up on my Mass Effect 3 multiplayer. After a year-long hiatus, I'm consistently ranking fourth (out of four) on every mission, forcing squad mates to treat me like a Ressuci Annie doll with a gun rather than a Reaper killa with attitude. Also, former Gaming Nexus staffer, Charlie Sinhaseni, who's now PR for the embattled SimCity brand, is prodding me to get my inner civil engineer on and tackle EA's newly installed servers. Just have to make sure my wife doesn't "reticulate" my "spline" for dropping $80 on the digital deluxe.

MIKE MAHARDY | Staff Writer | Twitter @mmahardy
I'll be checking out Dead Space 3's Awakened DLC this weekend to see if it really returns to the horror roots of the series. Aside from that, I'll dive into Castlevania: Mirror of Fate to see what I htink about the next portable installation in the series.

JOHN YAN | Senior Hardware Editor | Twitter @thejohnyan
I will be playing StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm all weekend while checking out SimCity and maybe throw in a run or two of Diablo 3.

NVIDIA passes on providing hardware for the PlayStation 4

by: John - - Add a Comment
NVIDIA supplied the graphics processor for the PlayStation 3. For the PlayStation 4, Sony's going with an AMD solution for its upcoming console. What happened?

Well, it turns out that NVIDIA walked away from the deal because Sony didn't want to pay the amount NVIDIA was comfortable with. Talking with Gamespot, NVIDIA just didn't feel the terms of what Sony was willing to do wasn't in their best interest, but they have plenty of other irons in the fire. Project Shield is a big thing going for them and they have their hands in the mobile business as well as the PC graphics card area to contend with.

This is another reason we don't have backwards compatibility with the PlayStation 3 since it uses a GPU from a different vendor. The bigger reason though is that the PS4 is moving away from Cell and using an x86 architecture, which would have a rough time emulating the Cell at a decent speed.

This is all AMD's gain though and they definitely need the business. Currently, AMD supplies the GPU for the Wii U and will be doing so for the PlayStation 4. AMD powered the Xbox 360 and there's a chance they could be doing so as well for the next Xbox. If that's the case, AMD would have cornered the console market.

PhysX and APEX support for PlayStation 4

by: John - - Add a Comment
PhysX support for the PlayStation is nothing new. Considering the PlayStation 3 had a NVIDIA card, it was natural that PhysX support would be in there.

The PlayStation 4 uses a Radeon graphics component from AMD so not a NVIDIA product here. Even so, NVIDIA has announced that the PlayStation 4 will have PhysX and APEX support.

PhysX gives you some things such as really cool particle effects, clothing, and fluids that move realistically. I use it on a few games on the PC and it really adds to the visuals of a game. APEX is for things such as destructible objects, cloth interactions, and in general adds more realism.

Having PhysX on a non-NVIDIA console is nothing new though as the Xbox 360 has an AMD graphics component, but still has PhysX support. This is just NVIDIA re-affirming that the games coming for the next Sony console will have the ability to use PhysX and APEX for more life like eye candy. [READ MORE]

Thief makes its return... but not as 4

by: John - - Add a Comment
About four years ago, Eidos Montreal announced they were working on Thief 4. It would seem between the announcement and today, the direction has changed. Instead, Eidos Montreal will now be making a reboot of the original Thief for the PC and upcoming consoles.

Garrett returns as the protagonist and you're going to be off doing some thiefy things. Game Informer has the exclusive details and a look at what Garret looks like in the new game. It's been a long, long time so I know a lot of gamers are really looking forward to this game. Let's hope Eidos Montreal comes through to do the game justice for old and new fans alike.

What We're Playing This Weekend for 3/1/2013

by: Randy - - Add a Comment
RUSSELL ARCHEY, staff writer, Twitter @neoscyther
I'm still working through Skyrim, though I'm focusing less on the story missions right now and trying to clear out any side quests I have as well as do some skill leveling, mainly in destruction and enchanting.

SEAN CAHILL, staff writer, Twitter @seancahill2
Trying to get through Far Cry 3, but having a hell of a time getting through one particular campaign because it's an escort/rescue mission and the guy keeps running into land mines.

NATHAN CARTER, staff writer, Twitter @natedoggcata
Left 4 Dead 2 and probably more Left 4 Dead 2. The Steam Workshop has pretty much gotten me addicted to this game again. I’m having tons of fun downloading and playing through brand new campaigns. If I have some spare time I’ll try to play though the Silent Hill HD Collection. I’m interested in seeing how many problems this game actually has, or how many I’ll notice, at least. Finally, I’ll try to get my party through the Organ Trail on iOS. It’s an Apple IIc version of the original Oregon Trail, except it’s set in a modern-day zombie apocalypse and it’s very addicting.

NATHANIEL COHEN, staff writer, Twitter @seven_hells
Still playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown, but I probably play some Final Fantasy XIII-2. My daughter spent the last of her Christmas money on it. After burning out on the Dead Space vertical playthough, I could use some shiny fantastical insanity. The Dead Space series is so damn dark, scary, and kind of sad. Playing all three games at once only made it more so.

JEREMY DUFF, senior staff writer, Twitter @duff3c
I am sort of on a PC gaming kick right now and am looking forward to getting some quality Battlefield 3 time in between spending time on the new Halo 4 maps that launched this week. Of course, my Vita will get some love as I am on the go throughout the weekend.

CHARLES HUSEMANN, editor-in-chief, Twitter @chusemann
This weekend will be the usual snippets of Black Ops 2 and MechWarrior Online interspersed with The Bridge, a cool new indie puzzle game.

RANDY KALISTA, staff writer, Twitter @randykalista
Somewhere between Mass Effect 3's N7 Challenge Weekend and my three-year-old daughter's 10,000th YouTube viewing of Swan Lake, my Xbox 360 red ringed. Again. I'm exclusively PC gaming for the next two or three weeks while my console's in the shop. So, assessing my mental fortitude as a grown adult, I figure it's time to man up to the final episode of The Walking Dead. Then that's that. At least until this season 1.5 business that's purportedly on the way. Then I'll have to see if I'm up for even more emotional beat downs.

MIKE MAHARDY, staff writer, Twitter @mmahardy
I'll be playing more FTL, as I still have yet to complete a single campaign. I keep losing/dying, but it's the best feeling to get farther each time. Aside from that, I'll be playing through BioShock and BioShock 2 in preparation for BioShock Infinite later in March. If that's not one of my most anticipated games in awhile then I don't know what is.

THQ to put some unsold properties up for auction

by: Nathaniel - - Add a Comment
Are you a fan of Darksiders, Red Faction, Homeworld, or MX vs. ATV?

If you are, then you were certainly saddened to learn that those properties were not sold during THQ's liquidation.  Have hope, however, because what remains of THQ will put several of its unsold properties up for auction.  The franchises and other owned or licensed software will be broken up into lots and sold in chunks.

Lot 1 is contains Red Faction, Red Faction 2, Red Faction Armageddon, and Red Faction: Guerrilla.

Lot 2 contains Homeworld and Homeworld 2.

Lot 3 is a big one.  It includes MX Alive, Mx Superfly featuring Ricky Carmichael, MX Unleashed, MX vs ATV Reflex, MX vs ATV Untamed, MX vs ATV Alive Tournament, MX vs. ATV Unleashed, and MX vs ATV: On The Edge.

Lot 4 is Darksiders and Darksiders 2.

Lot 5 is huge.  Highlights include Frontlines: Fuel of War, both Full Spectrum Warrior games, all four Destroy All Humans! games, and uDraw among many others you'll find after the jump.

Lot 6 is similar in size.  Its highlights include Supreme Commander and Supreme Commander Forged Alliance, Worms 2, Worms Battle Islands, Worms Open Warfare, Worms: A Space Oddity, and Worms: Open Warfare 2 (Team 17).  Again, you can find the full list after the jump.
