Valve details new Knuckles controllers for VR

One of the more exciting technologies I'm looking forward to are the Knuckles controllers by Valve Software. While I don't mind the wand controllers for the HTC Vive, the Knuckles seem like such a nice step up.

First of all, you can easily keep it on you without gripping the controllers as it straps to to the palm of your hand. It can detect various pressure levels of each digit and it will open up a new array of inputs for VR developers to take advantage of.

Valve has gone through an iteration or two of the controller and they've posted info on their latest one. It adds one very big requested feature and that is a joystick. I don't mind the touchpad for some operations, but using the joystick on my Samsung Odyssey is really, really convenient at times and more accurate than trying to fiddle with the touchpad. There's still a touchpad on the Knuckles controller, but it supplements the much needed joystick now.

Still no release date on these or how much they cost, but I hope they come out soon.
