World War Toon integrates the Omni SDK into their game

by: John -
More On: Omni

Yes, I'm still waiting for my Virtuix Omni to arrive, but it's good to see some more games taking advantage of it. While it does mimic a keyboard or D-pad movement, Virtuix does have an SDK out so games can incorporate the omni-directional treadmill into their game natively.

World War Toon, from a studio created by some Call of Duty developers, is the first to integrate the Omni into their game. Theoretically, that should mean an easy setup for if you want to play the game with the Omni.

You can see it in action below, but I do have a little reservation. You can see in about 0:21 of the clip that the person stops moving, yet the character on the screen continues to slide forward. It could be part of the game or perhaps he was pushed. Hard to say, but for the most part, the movement looks pretty good.
