Mad Catz isnt dead yet, introduces the appropriately named TRITTON ARK headphone series

Like Noah before them, Mad Catz looks like they may miss out on a catastrophe in the making by getting back to their roots and introducing a new TRITTON headphone lineup called ARK. Last week the company announced that their new ARK series of gaming headsets was in the works with the intention of a Holiday 2016 release. The headphones will be available for PS4, XbO and PC, and, per the release, the name “ARK” was chosen based on three innovations for the design:

  • Audionomics – The ARK series features a unique, dynamic mono-curve design that unifies audio fidelity and ergonomics to achieve the ultimate experience in sound and comfort
  • R:Drive – In a world first for gaming headsets, ARK series headsets feature multiple frequency-specific speakers in each earcup (just like hi-fi speakers, where each driver handles specific frequency ranges), delivering a powerful, compromise-free immersive sound experience
  • Kameleon – Motion-dynamic RGB backlighting, which allows users to customize the illumination of each ARK headset with ease.

The series looks to eventually feature two distinct models:

  • ARK 100 (Wired Stereo headset) – Available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions at launch, with a . A PC version of the ARK 100 also will be available as a wired 7.1 Surround Sound headset.

  • ARK 300 (Wireless 7.1 Headset) - Available for Xbox One and PS4 versions, will feature wireless DTS Headphone:X surround sound headset with full 7.1 uncompressed audio via an HDMI pass-through base station. The ARK 300 also will come with a Audionomics dial that adjusts the way it fits, allowing for a more personal comfort level to the users head and enhancing the audio of the headset.


While Mad Catz future is cloudy at best, the TRITTON brand looks to be moving forward with these new models and innovations. As mentioned, the target release is Holiday 2016, although no price points have been released as of yet.
