Dead Island is getting a definitive edition

More On: Dead Island

Deep Silver's open world zombie survival game Dead Island is making it's way to current gen systems as they announced that Dead Island Definitive Collection is being released on May 31st for the PS4, Xbox one and PC. The Definitive Edition will retail for $39.99 and include Dead Island, Dead Island: Riptide and all the DLC. Since these games are already on the PC, that version will be a bundle of the two games and all the DLC in one package.

A new mini game Dead Island Retro Revenge will also be included with the package. If you only want one of the games, Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide will be available as standalone purchases digitally for $19.99 each.

This also seems to be one of those either you love it or you hate it kind of games. I think the disappointment came from the fact that we got the infamous trailer and the game turned out to be a completely different tone from what we expected. I know this game I had my fair share of frustrations with the PS3 version including a deadly bug which erased my progress twice. That said, after it was patched I had a ton of fun with the game. Killing zombies was always exciting and there was always that great sense of danger when you are traveling to a new location, your vehicle gets destroyed and you need to make it the rest of the way on foot. Oh yeah and there is a hoard of zombies coming right for you. Great stuff.
