Final Fantasy XV Uncovered - Round-up

by: Matt -
More On: Final Fantasy XV

Well. That was certainly exciting show, wasn't it? In case you missed it, the Final Fantasy XV Uncovered stream can be seen below. But let's get those big reveals out of the way first shall we?

  • A new trailer was shown off, giving the audience the first exposure to the theme of Final Fantasy XV, a cover of Stand By Me, performed by Florence + The Machine.
  • There's going to be a mobile game released before the launch of Final Fantasy XV, titled Justice Monsters Five, it is the mini-game that is present in the console game, but made available for iOS, Android, and Windows 10, perhaps hinting at a PC port of the core game at some point?
  • Final Fantasy XV is getting a prequel anime series, five episodes long, that will be released before the game's launch, focusing on how the boy band got together. You can view the first episode - Before the Storm - HERE!!
  • Want more animated Final Fantasy XV? Because you're going to get it, in the form of a CG movie, which hopefully will be better than Spirits Within (never forget), titled Kingsglaive, it will follow Noctis' father, King Regis (played by Sean Bean, all but guaranteeing his death), his faithful retainer Nyx, the protagonist, voiced by Aaron Paul, and Luna, played by Lena Headey. Plenty of star power here, hopefully the movie will be good when it comes out later this year.
  • Platinum Demo! See the world as a young Noctis, and cavort around with a Carbuncle companion! Completing the demo will unlock Carbuncle for the main game. If you're interested in grabbing it, here's it is on PSN and Xbox Live.
  • I think that's it. Since Gamespot kind of spoiled the 9/30/2016 release date. But we have a release date, it's actually happening! And you can get it as a standard edition, but why do that when you can get the deluxe version ($89.99) that comes with the game, a nice steelbook case, and a blu-ray of Kingsglaive. Or if you're ballin' out of control, then go pick up the Ultimate Collector's Edition ($269.99) that comes with a Play Arts Kai figure of Noctis, 192 page art book, blu-ray discs of the Brotherhood anime and Kingsglaive movie, a 'special' soundtrack, and some DLC items. There's only going to be 30,000 produced world-wide, and when I last checked, both items were already on waiting list status. So good luck getting one of those!

And if you want to watch the event, you can catch the stream below.

I'll have some demo impressions later on this week!
