Club Nintendo's replacement is Nintendo Account

At the investors briefing in Tokyo earlier today, Nintendo announced that their new customer membership program: Nintendo Account. This new system will replace the long-running but admittedly clunky Club Nintendo. Nintendo Account improves on the old system by linking a unified account across game consoles, computers and smartphones, and will use a cloud-based system to share data among all of a user's devices.

No word yet on how the coins/rewards program will work, if it is even implemented the same, but Nintendo Account should be primed to launch in March 2016.
