Emulator turns old NES games from using pixels to voxels

Here's an interesting way someone is breathing new life into old classics. Procyon has created a renderer for an NES emulator that will turn those flat looking pixels into 3D loving voxels. You can think of voxels as pixels with volume, hence the name voxels.

Check out the video below to see it in action. It's pretty crazy how it changes games like Donkey Kong, Galaga, and Super Mario Bros. It's not good for every game, but the ones that work well look pretty amazing.

You can grab the files yourself from his website, but it's currently only for Linux. He's working on a Windows version.

Also, this is way better than sitting through Pixels with Adam Sandler.
