SMITE dev diary gives us some insight on the Xbox One version of the game

More On: SMITE

Up until this point, the MOBA experience has pretty much been PC exclusive. There have been some games that have tried to put a MOBA on consoles, but have failed to do so. Until now.

Hi Rez Studios are bringing SMITE to the Xbox One later this year and at the SMITE World Championship this weekend, they gave fans the first look at the game. The good thing is that this isn't going to be a stripped down port of the game. You will be getting the real deal and it will all be free to play, including frequent content updates which will be free as well.

This could be huge because like I mentioned above, there really hasn't been that true MOBA experience on consoles before. Since SMITE is played in third person, it makes it a perfect fit for a controller as opposed to a mouse and keyboard. There is absolutely nothing wrong with other MOBA's like League of Legends and DOTA 2, I am a big fan of League of Legends myself, but I shudder thinking about playing that game with a controller.

If you are interested in trying out the Xbox One version of the game early, Beta sign ups are currently available. Just go to the site and sign up and invites will be sent out when the beta goes live. No word yet on when the beta will start or when the game will release.
