New gameplay and commentary video for free-to-play Dreadnought

More On: Dreadnought

If our E3 2014 hands-on impressions didn't convince you to put Dreadnought on your radar, then this gameplay video will. With commentary from developer Yager's gameplay director, Peter Holzapfel, and game designer, Eino Joas, this video starts to put these behemoths into perspective.

Dreadnought will be a free-to-play armada action game, throwing players into 5v5 competitive multiplayer matches. A singleplayer campaign is in the works, too. And while this game is all about the big guns, there are smaller support roles to play in auxilliary ships. Judging from Chuck's E3 impressions, teamwork and a healthy mix of ship classes can win the day.

These are definitely spaceships, but this video leads me to believe that much of the fighting will be over planetary airspace (as opposed to outer space). I'm guessing we'll get out there, though I like how these terrestrial battlefields are relevant in this ship-to-ship combat.

Combine this with World of Warships in 2015, and my next year is going to be full of wonderfully slow, lumbering, colossal, powerful combat. Slow your roll, son.

Dreadnought is coming to PC sometime in 2015.
