EA starting a subscription service on Xbox One

Well this kinda came out of nowhere. EA Games just announced and launched a brand new subscription service on Xbox One called EA Access. I guess you could call a Gamefly or Netflix on Demand like service but exclusively for EA Games.

You can either pay $5 a month or $30 for an entire year and get unlimited access to a large catalog of EA's games on the Xbox One.

Additionally, subscribers get at 10% discount on digital content such as DLC, full game downloads and access to games a week before they hit stores.

The service is in beta right now so the only titles available are...

  • Madden 25
  • FIFA 14
  • Battlefield 4
  • Peggle 2

Games coming to the service in the future include...

  • Madden 15
  • NHL 15
  • FIFA 15
  • NBA Live 15
  • Dragon Age: Inquisition

This service is great for people who play the sports games. Since most people only play those games for a year anyways, you can get access to them for only $30 rather than paying $60 for each one.

No word yet on if the service is coming to other consoles.
