GameSpot will be the place to be (figuratively) or if your lucky enough to be in the area the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco (physically) for the announcement of the Talent Roster for WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011. On September 8th, at 4:00 pm PT the event will begin, and it will be in true WWE fashion. Hall of Famer Howard Finkel, The Miz, and Eve Torres will be on hand to deliver the commentary as each new virtual Superstar or Diva is revealed. The real treat will be for attendees who will get to play SvR 2011 and take part in GameSpot's "Button Mashing" show. SAN FRANCISCO, September 1, 2010 — GameSpot, the leading source for gaming information online and a property of CBS Interactive, today announced an arrangement with THQ Inc. to bring fans a special live event announcing the virtual talent roster in WWE® SmackDown® vs. Raw® 2011, the renowned simulation-based experience in THQ’s World Wrestling Entertainment® video game portfolio. A selection of community members will be invited to attend the event on September 8 at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco.  Doors will open at 3:00 p.m. PT, with the event broadcast live on GameSpot scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. PT.
 
The event will allow consumers to see the announcement of the game's extensive roster of WWE Superstars and WWE Divas. Each group of announcements will be facilitated and commented on by WWE talent. Personalities currently scheduled to appear include WWE Hall of Famer Howard Finkel, Superstar The Miz® and WWE Diva Eve Torres. Attendees on site will also be able to play the game and take part in a unique edition of GameSpot’s “Button Mashing” show, in which they will face off against one another in three rounds playing three classic WWE video games.
 
Consumers will be able to interact with the live broadcast by utilizing GameSpot’s comment boards or following Twitter with @gamespot to offer their impressions or ask questions of GameSpot’s hosts and WWE guests.  In addition, fans can also share in the experience through the official WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 community at community.smackdownvsraw.com, on Facebook at facebook.com/WWEgames or via Twitter at twitter.com/WWEgames.
