The Wolf Among Us - Episode 2 finally coming first week of February

More On: The Wolf Among Us

Telltale Games posted a key art image of The Wolf Among Us: Episode 2 - Smoke and Mirrors today on its Facebook page. It's of series protagonist, Bigby Wolf, brandishing a well-used cricket paddle. The image was accompanied by the message, "Downloading soon to PC/Mac, consoles, and iOS..."

Kevin Bruner, president and co-founder of Telltale, said in a Reddit post last week, "Episode 2 should be available the first week of February. We are working hard with all of our partners (Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Apple) to coordinate everything, but we’re confident enough to announce that here."

The first episode of The Wolf Among Us released on October 11, 2013. If Telltale sticks to a first week of February launch window, that still spells out a four-month gap between the first and second episodes. For comparison, Telltale's The Walking Dead - Season 1, operating on the same five-episode season template, brought out an episode every two months.

The Wolf Among Us delays weren't planned. Bruner continued, "We are very concerned about the long delay for this episode, but this is one of those occasions where several things conspired against us (not to mention the additional delays due to the holidays). I won't dive into the details, but this has been an unusual and specific set of circumstances and we do not anticipate it happening again as we go forward with the rest of the season."

There you have it. Approximately two more weeks until Episode 2 - Smoke and Mirrors, and then a (hopefully) reduced two-month gap between episodes 3, 4, and 5. And if Episode 1 - Faith is any indication, it'll all be worth the season pass.

Also check out the two other images below from the second episode. One features Jack – of Jack and the Beanstalk fame – a dude that's always falling for scams entirely too late. The other is of (I'm presuming from the name of the strip club) Georgie Porgie from the nursery rhyme that goes "Georgie Porgie, pudding and pie. Kissed the girls and made them cry."
