Sony has announced that, for their fifth year, they support the Alli Dew Tour, season-long sprots tour, to show everyone that Sony's still comitted to the sports community. The tour, which spans across 5 cities in the US, started in Chicago, Illinois on June 26th. The tour will end in Orlando, Florida on October 18th.
Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) today announced its fifth
year of aligning with the Alli Dew Tour, the world’s premier
season-long action sports tour, to reinforce their commitment to the
action sports community and to offer new interactive activities to
engage fans. The five-city tour kicked off in Chicago, IL on June 26
and will wrap at the PlayStation® Pro in Orlando, FL on October 18.

As part of SCEA’s dedication to promoting action sports, the top
“PlayStation Pro Moments” from each event will be selected and the
videos will be featured on allisports.com/playstation for consumers to
vote on their favorite. For each tour stop, PlayStation will announce
a “Pro Moment” winner who will receive $5000 along with a
PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) system and additional prizes.

Throughout the tour, PlayStation will provide fans a chance to be part
of the action through hands-on challenges and access to the latest PS3
and PSP®(PlayStation® Portable) games . Each stop will feature either
the award-winning PlayStation Experience Truck or the PlayStation
Patrol Truck. Select stops will also provide attendees exclusive
gameplay to games prior to their launch, including highly anticipated
UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves™, MotorStorm® Pacific Rift, and Fat
Princess, as well as popular games like inFAMOUS, MLB® 09: The Show™,
SingStar® and Rag Doll Kung Fu™ Fists of Plastic.

Qualified fans also get a chance to compete in the PlayStation “Play
The Pros” competition where they will face off against select pro
athletes on PlayStation games to win cool PlayStation prizes. “Play
The Pros” athletes this year include BMX superstars Daniel Dhers &
Anthony Napolitan, veteran skater Neal Hendrix, and rising skate star
Chaz Ortiz. In addition, a dedicated PSP zone will showcase the new
Rock Band™ Unplugged and Gran Turismo™ PSP game, alongside a daily PSP
competition for a chance to win a PSP 3000 system and games.

At the final stop of this year’s Alli Dew Tour, an award will be given
to the “PlayStation Player of the Year,” to recognize the pro athlete
that best represents themselves both within and outside the action
sports community. On behalf of the winner, PlayStation will donate
$5,000 to the Athlete Recovery Fund (www.athleterecoveryfund.com), a
non-profit that provides professional action sports athletes with
financial support after severe injuries.
