If you didn't get enough Syphon Filter action before then you're in luck as Sony announced that
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror will be released in March of 2006 exclusively for the PSP. Sony hasn't released a lot of details yet but there will be a new single player game as well as a new "evolving multiplayer experience".
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror stars
Gabe Logan and Lian Xing. Gabe Logan, a highly trained Precision
Strike Operative, runs a small agency that "legally" doesn't exist. He
and his team specialize in precision strike missions that require split
second life and death decisions that are too volatile for conventional
military forces, too dangerous for standard intelligence agents.
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror promises
an immersive single-player experience and delivers an evolving online
multiplayer experience featuring melee attacks, target lock, precision
aiming, target and vision enhancements, enhanced artificial
intelligence (AI), and high-tech weaponry. Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror allows
gamers to choose between difficulty modes that monitor and adjust skill
level, nine unique online maps using both Ad Hoc and Infrastructure
connectivity, and four types of gameplay modes in multiplayer. Online
play encompasses 4 modes of play with up to 8 players via
Infrastructure and 6 players with the use of Ad Hoc. Game types offered
to the player will include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Rogue Agent and
an all-new Objective mode.
