The PlayStation 4 Share button is kind of a big deal. From December 23 to January 3, PS4 players accounted for a full 20% of the streaming content to Twitch, the app that let's gamers upload video directly to the Twitch streaming video platform. Not bad for a site that, according to its own estimates, gets 45 million visitors a month, each one sticking around for an hour and a half on average.

Matthew DiPietro, VP of Marketing for Twitch, said, "Ever since we began working with the major console platform companies, we were confident the integration of live broadcasting to Twitch would be a game changer. Based on our success with PlayStation 4, which currently represents twenty percent of our broadcaster base, our vision was on the mark. We envision a day when broadcasting your gameplay is a ubiquitous piece of the gaming experience. We're well on our way."

Looks like Sony and Twitch both had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
