As an owner of a PS2 and having played some great online PS2 games, I'm not really shocked by this news. A
post on GamesFirst!
talks about how the PlayStation 3 won't have an online service similiar
to Xbox Live. While some people think this is really stupid, others
just don't really seem to care as they aren't paying to play most of
the online stuff. I've played
NBA 2K5 on both online services
and had the same experience: I played a basketball game with a live
human. We'll see how this decision, if it's true, affects the
PlayStation 3 but that's so far off right now with the launch of the
system being a 9 months to a year away.
