Like we need an official announcement of Rock Band 3

by: John -
But that's what we get today as a whole host of Rock Band 3 information came out today via the usual channels. The game's going to come with 83 songs but will support Rock Band, Rock Band 2, DLC, AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack, LEGO Rock Band, and Green Day: Rock Band. Sorry folks, no Beatles which we knew would happen. So, for folks like Cyril who spent a boat load of money on DLC, he'll be happy to know that he can use it in the third game. Again, not too surprising since Rock Band 2 supported Rock Band 1.

There's some improvements in the library to manage your music. It sounds like it'll make things a little easier and there will be a recommendation engine to try and give you songs that fit your taste.

The harmonies that debuted with The Beatles: Rock Band now comes to Rock Band 3. It's one of the features that I really enjoyed with The Beatles so I'm glad to see it in the third game.

One new instrument is added and that's the keyboard which can be played sitting down or like a keytar. Adding the amount of mics that can be attached to the game, you can have up to seven folks rocking it out in your living room.

For those that are experts already, why not go pro in the new Rock Band Pro mode. The drums adds the three cymbals, the keyboard will feature pitch-accurate performance, and the guitar

Party mode has been added so folks can jump in and out of the game whenever they want like in Guitar Hero 5. I'm anxious to check out the new Career Mode and see if the improvements on that make for a better single player experience. And, what seems to be coming to a lot of games these days, social network integration such as Facebook and Twitter.

Look for Tina's look at the game up close at E3 in the coming week.
