Registration for the 2008 WCG USA Championship Tournament is now open.  U.S. citizens are invited to visit www.worldcybergames.com/usa to register for this year's tournament and to obtain more information about the WCG USA Championship tournament and TEAM USA. The WCG global market registrations are locally driven; international players should consult their home country's respective WCG website, which can be reached via links on www.worldcybergames.com.

"The World Cyber Games is the largest competition in all of eSports," said Michael Arzt, senior vice president and general manager of International Cyber Marketing USA. "This year's lineup of games needed to appeal to the widest spectrum of players. Not only does the WCG expect to exceed last year's worldwide total of over 1.5 million competitors; we anticipate 2008 to be the most exciting year of competition in the long and storied history of the World Cyber Games."

The 2007 World Cyber Games experienced record numbers of gamers and participating countries, with more than 1.5 million players and 74 countries competing. At last year's WCG Grand Final in Seattle, Wash., TEAM USA captured the overall championship for only the second time in the history of the tournament.
