It looks like the first victims
of the Activision merger will be Ghostbusters
, Brutal Legend
, and .50: Blood in the Sand
. While not unexpected this is a bit of a blow for those of us (i.e. me) that were looking forward to these games. I can see them passing on Brutal Legend
(niche market) and Blood in the Sand
(first game sold like crap) but Ghostbusters
had sure fire hit written all over it (at least commercially). I can see other publishers picking up the games as they are fairly close to completetion.
Activision is also going to be re-aligning staff at some of the studios, including the folks at High Moon Studios (the people behind The Bourne Conspiracy
Update (Chuck): It's been pointed out that just because it's not on the list, doesn't mean they aren't publishing it so we may want to hold off on the wake until Activision says something definite.
