Star Dock took the wraps off Impulse, their new digital distribution system. The system is launching with a decent selection of games as Star Dock was able to get Epic, THQ, Gas Powered Games, Hot Head Games, and a few other publishers on board. Of course you`ll be able to get Star Dock`s own games on the service so you can go ahead and purchase The Political Machine 2008 without leaving your home.

The service looks decent but other than content I`m not sure that there`s much that differentiates it from Steam and Gamers Gate. It will be interesting to see how these systems work out as outside of selection (which is fairly equal) the only real points of competition is price (which is about the same across all three platforms), service, and brand equity (something that Steam has in spadeS).
